When you first get started with REACH, it’s helpful to understand how the platform works as a whole.
At its simplest, REACH connects two experiences:
You manage your organization’s data and supporter information in the Admin Console. > Your supporters interact with your organization through the public side of REACH—what we call the portal.
The information and features you manage behind the scenes determine what your supporters can see and do.
The Admin Side
The Admin Console is where your team manages your data and configures REACH.
This includes managing your supporters, donations, sponsorships, fundraising, communications, reports, public content, settings and more.
For example, this is where you can:
- Add and manage Sponsorships and Sponsors
- Create Campaigns and Projects
- Create Donation Forms
- Manage supporter and donation information
- Customize your public site
- Communicate with supporters
- Run reports
For a closer look at where everything is located, see Admin Console Navigation.
The Supporter Side
The REACH public portal is where your supporters interact with the information and opportunities you make public or accessible.
Depending on the features your organization uses, supporters may be able to:
- Donate
- Sponsor
- Give toward Campaigns and Projects
- Register for Events
- Purchase Products
- Learn more about your organization
- Log in to manage their supporter account
The supporter side of REACH includes both public pages that anyone can access and the Donor Portal for logged-in supporters to view their personal information.
Learn more about these areas in Navigating Your Public Portal and Donor Portal.
How the Two Sides Work Together
Changes you make in the Admin Console can directly affect your supporters’ experience.
For example:
- Add a Sponsorship > Supporters can view and sponsor it.
- Create a Campaign > Supporters can learn about the Campaign and donate toward its goal.
- Create a Donation Form > Supporters can use the form to give online.
- Update your Portal Branding or Portal Templates > You change how your public REACH site looks and displays your content.
See Choosing How to Use Your REACH Public Portal to learn about your options for making these REACH features accessible to your supporters, either integrated with your website, or as your own stand-alone website.
