The Index (Homepage) is the main landing page of your website and is often the first place visitors interact with your organization. It’s designed to highlight your mission, key campaigns, and calls to action while guiding visitors to explore more of your site.

Access This Template
Go to Portal Content → Portal Templates → Index.
Tip: Make edits in Staging Site first so you can preview changes before publishing.
Default View of Index Page
The default Index page includes sections like Our Mission, Child Sponsorship, Sponsor a Child, Our Campaigns, and Our Projects, along with Latest News and Social Links.
- Latest News displays messages that are not marked as Private under Communications → Messages.
- Social Links is where you can add, update, or remove links to your organization’s social platforms.
Default elements include:
- Heading – a primary headline introducing your organization or mission (Our Mission by default)
- Text block – supporting text or a brief description (under Our Mission by default)
- Button – a call to action that links to more details about your mission
- Pages can be created under Portal Content → Pages
- Image – a featured visual on the homepage (next to Our Mission by default)
- Donate button – links to your default donation page
- Secondary heading – highlights your sponsorship program (Child Sponsorship by default)
- Description text – supporting information about sponsorships
- Featured sponsorships – displays select sponsorship opportunities you’ve created
- View sponsorships button – links to the full sponsorship listing page
- Three-column image section, featuring:
- Sponsor a Child – image and description
- Our Campaigns – image and description
- Our Projects – image and description
Tip: Click Delete to remove the three-column section entirely, or replace the content if you aren’t using sponsorships, campaigns, and/or projects.
- Latest News – section header
- Featured messages – displays three recent updates from Communications → Messages
- Social links – icons linking to your social media profiles
Tip: Social links are included on both the Index page and the Footer. You may want to adjust the visibility from one location to avoid duplication.
Adding Other Elements
The Index page is highly customizable and can include additional blocks as needed.
To add new content, click + Block, choose the element you’d like to add, and customize it to support your homepage goals.
Preview and Publish
Preview changes on the staging site, then use Actions → Publish Staging to Live Site when you’re ready to apply updates to your live site.
