Editing Donations

REACH allows an organization’s admin to edit certain details in a Supporter’s one-time or recurring donation(s) from the Admin Console.

Editing a one-time donation

In a one-time donation you can can add or edit the Date, Purpose, Attach to a Pledge, Reference Number (typically from your payment gateway), Tax Status, Keep the Donor or the Amount Anonymous, Add Notes and Add a Soft Credit.

NOTE: You CANNOT edit the donation amount or the payment method used.

If you need to change the amount (Offline only), delete the donation and create a new one with the new amount.

If you need to change the donation Purpose and attach the donation to a Sponsorship, you must first make sure the sponsorship relationship has been set up.

To edit the donation:

  • Go to the Donations module or to the Supporter’s record and click on the Donations tab
  • Next to the Donation you wish to edit, click on Actions, then Edit Donation
  • Make your changes in the donation
  • Click Save Changes

Editing a recurring donation

In a recurring donation you can add or edit the Process Day, Next Donation Date, Purpose, Reference Number (typically from your payment gateway), Recurring Period, End on Date, Tax Status, Keep Donor or Amount Anonymous, Add Notes and Add a Soft Credit.

Note: You cannot edit the recurring donation amount.
If you need to change the amount, Cancel the original recurring donation and create a new one with the new amount.

To edit the donation:

  • Go to Donations > Click on Recurring tab
  • Next to the Donation you wish to edit, click on Actions, then Edit Donation
  • Make your changes in the recurring donation
  • Next to Process Day, you can optionally select the day of the month for the recurring donation to always run on. Example, selecting 15 as the Process Day will have the recurring donation always run on the 15th of the month.
  • Next Donation is the date the next recurring donation will be processed.
  • Click Save Changes
