Index Header Portal Template

The Index Header is a specialized Header used on your homepage or main index page. It is designed to stand out from regular page headers, creating a strong first impression and guiding visitors to key sections of your site.

Access This Template

Go to Portal Content → Portal Templates → Index Header.

Tip: Make edits in Staging Site first so you can preview changes before publishing.

Default Index Header Elements

The default Header includes a:

  • Background Image
  • Navigation bar with a logo, navigation menu and donate button
  • Columns for heading or tagline text
  • Columns for action button(s)

Editing the Default Index Header Elements

Background 

Next to Row, click the pencil icon to:

  • Adjust the content width and minimum height
  • Customize the column gap, bottom border, border radius, and shadow
  • Set background and foreground colors
  • Choose a background image
  • Control column alignment
  • Define margins and padding

Navigation Bar

Next to the Navigation bar block, click the pencil icon to:

  • Choose which menu to display (Menus are managed under Settings > Menus)
  • Adjust the navigation bar’s appearance
  • Upload or update your logo
  • Customize or hide the Donate button

Heading or Tagline Text

Next to the columns containing your heading or tagline:

  • Click Edit on the column to adjust display settings, appearance, and padding
  • Click Edit on the heading or tagline text to modify the text content, heading size, color, and margins

Buttons

To customize buttons:

  • Click Edit on the column to adjust display settings, appearance, and padding
  • Click Edit on the button itself to modify the link, text, color, size, and overall appearance

Adding Additional Elements

To add more content to your Index Header:

  1. Click + Column and select the column width
  2. Click + Block and choose the type of block you want to add

Preview and Publish

Preview changes on the staging site, then use Actions → Publish Staging to Live Site when you’re ready to apply updates to your live site.
